Lou is not messing around

I have to say I like the impatience Lou Pineilla is showing this season. Its clear by his actions (are reactions) that he intends to win this year and will not tolerate sub-par performance from his players. Rich Hill is the latest to experience this having been dispatched to AAA Iowa following his last start. He won’t be on the farm long but notice is given to all that Lou expects results.

The only player the organization has really been patient with (so far) is Felix Pie. He is getting every opportunity to improve at the major league level. I can’t say how long the Cubs will humor him without sending him down as well, but for now I think they are doing the right thing. They have to see what this guy has got – if he can live up to the hype.

So Lou sure seems like he means it – there is a sense of urgency that is exciting to see on the North side.
