Revisiting the Harden Trade
Question: So who would you say got the best of this deal so far?
Eric Patterson’s batting average went down from .237 to .198 (going into today’s action)
Sean Gallagher’s ERA went up from 4.45 as a Cub to 5.23 as an Oakland Athletic (going into today’s action)
Matt Murton was optioned to AAA Sacramento on July 27 after going 3 for 30 in an A’s uniform. He was not among the A’s September call-ups.
Rich Harden has gone 4-1 in 9 starts as a Cub, with a 1.50 ERA and 75 k’s in 54 innings.
Answer: Jim Hendry, decisively.Â

Gallagher threw 4 innings today against the Tigers. No hits, but he walked 6 guys and was yanked after the 4th inning! whats up with that?
Gallager might still be a stud. But by then the Cubs might have a World Series Championship Trophy becuase of this trade. Hendry won this one period.
