Recession? What recession?

It seems the folks that like their entertainment in Wrigleyville haven’t picked up a paper lately. When the first date for the Billy Joel & Elton John “Face 2 Face” tour stop at Wrigley went on sale, the concert sold out so quick, Live Nation seemed to scramble to add another date.

Now today single game tickets went on sale for the Cubs 2009 home season at Wrigley Field. Fans to be similarly eager to snap them up as fast as they can hit ‘refresh’ on their web browsers! Apparently people are finding money for their pilgramage to the Friendly Confines in spite of the dreadful US and world economic situation. I wonder if perhaps people will make fewer trips to Wrigley, with smaller groups?  We shall see if the club tops the three million attendance mark again this year.
